Women's Health Services
An obstetrician/gynecologist (OB/GYN) is a physician specialist who provides medical and surgical care to women - with special expertise in pregnancy, childbirth, and disorders of the reproductive system. This includes preventative care, prenatal care, detection of sexually transmitted diseases, Pap test screening, and family planning.
In addition to graduation from medical school, the OB/GYN physician completes a four-year OB/GYN residency program. HealthPoint obstetricians/gynecologists are all board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
HealthPoint is an accredited site of the national Centering Pregnancy program, which brings expectant mothers at the same stage of pregnancy into groups for extra education and peer support.
Centering Pregnancy is offered at HealthPoint Covington and HealthPoint Florence locations. Expecting mothers who join have private time with their provider plus get support from other expectant mothers and learn more about their pregnancy, childbirth and parenting.
Expectant mothers should ask their HealthPoint providers about joining Centering Pregnancy.
Additionally, several OB/GYN physicians from St. Elizabeth Healthcare see patients at HealthPoint offices. They include Sr. Kay Kramer and Dr. Beth Myers.
