HealthPoint’s Healthcare for the Homeless program provides medical care and prescription drugs to homeless people in Northern Kentucky. Sister Ann John who founded HealthPoint’s homeless clinic provides case management services and leads a team of caregivers including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff in our Covington office at 1401 Madison Avenue in Covington.
Founded in 1989, the clinic was located as a stand-alone clinic in Covington, “Pike Street Clinic”, until 2017 when services were imbedded in our Covington, Florence and Bellevue offices to reach more patients experiencing homelessness, to offer more hours (to 9pm on weeknights and Saturdays 9am-5pm) and more services (medical, dental and behavioral health). Along with medical care, we supply patients with prescription assistance, shoes, socks, eyeglasses, food and bus passes as needed.
The operation of the Healthcare for the Homeless is made possible in part by donations from individuals, local churches, various community organizations and the annual HealthPoint Hopebox Derby: A Race to Help the Homeless.
